Finally a Money Maker

I know everyone appreciates a free meal or dessert, but let us not forget why we created this blog, to make money (unless you were selling those free meals.. then you have made me proud).

Apple is offering a great deal for trading in your old iPhones. The chart below shows the value of various iPhones. The best deal is $200 for trading in an iPhone 5/5C/5s 16 GB!

If you're like me, you've already traded in your iPhone in the past, so where do you find an iPhone to trade? Well I took to Craigslist and the OfferUp app. Most of the time you can find someone who needs the cash now and will sell their phone for a measly $100. I even found one guy selling for $80, after I haggled him down for a few hours..

All you need to do is visit the trade in website below, fill out the form about your iPhone, mostly about the condition of the phone, and you can mail it in and wait for your gift card.

You may be wondering, oh Fresh Prince what will I do with $1,000 of Apple store gift cards?? Of course, you can wait and use it on the next iPhone 7 or buy some sick beats by dre. But for most of us, we prefer cash and you can sell these gift cards on http://www.cardpool.com for $166 each, 66% profit on each iPhone 5. That's how you impress the slimmies at the bus stop.

Now, if you're one of those people who appreciate less value.. you can also trade in an iPhone 5 to Amazon for ~$115..

He want that (Cup) Cake Cake Cake

Writing Yelp reviews is my primary hobby. However, under the influence of my thrifty (read: cheap) boyfriend, I occasionally dabble in deal hunting. This guy would toss me aside for a free meal at Carrabbas, so I resort to finding deals for him to prove my worth.

My first guest post on this blog features something I’m very passionate about- cupcakes. Not to brag or anything, but I’ve been diagnosed with O.C.D.- Obsessive Cupcakes Disorder. And there is no cure.

Fortunately, Sprinkles came thru with its recent launch of the Perks program that offers exclusive rewards for being a loyal customer. http://sprinkles.com/perks

You’ll receive a free cupcake just for signing up, and an additional freebie on your birthday! Don’t you wish EVERY day were your birthday?

Well, your devious genie is here to grant your wish. You may be familiar with this method if you’ve been closely following this blog. All you need is a unique email address and phone number, and thanks to Google, you can create an endless number of these. Yes, you can have a lifetime’s supply of cupcakes for free.

On the rare chance that you have morals (don’t be embarrassed, I’m sure there are a handful of you out there), you can legitimately earn points too. Each referral of a friend gets you 5 points, and every 15 cupcakes purchased earns you another free cupcake. For the rest of us unethical monsters, this presents another level of opportunity. As you create more Perks accounts, make sure to list all the new email addresses as referrals, so that your original account continues to accumulate points.

You’ll never have to pay for a cupcake again!

Love,
Fresh Princess of Deal Air

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for your dramatic weight gain. Your lack of self-control is the singular cause for that growing muffin top. Plus, I’m helping you save $3.75 x infinite cupcakes = you can afford liposuction.

Valentine's Day

2/8/2016

Well it’s that time of year that all men dread and all women either love or hate depending on their man (or lack thereof). This has me wondering what the demographic of our readers is. So hit us up in the DM (which is the public Comments section below) and let us know.

This year I’ve decided to take a FRESH approach to Valentine’s Day and see if I can get away with spending less than $15 while feeding I and my significant other is she decides to attend. Here is my step-by-step guide to the best V-Day ever.

Step #1 – Make your own card. Women love sentimental stuff right? Think things that are from the heart…. So why not make your own Valentines card? Hallmark is either a rip-off or a bailout opportunity for when you forget a big date. Here is a sweet poem that I came up with in 10 minutes..... from the heart:

     FRESH like summer's breeze
     Nothing like executing with ease

     PRINCE charming can't be faded
     OF DEALs that are outdated
     Protecting you from Revanent's Bear
Creating new accounts so you can have a breath of fresh AIR
Although you know I love a cheap deal
I'd rather have you as my Valentine..... for real

Step #2 – The gift. Here are a few extremely thoughtful gift ideas:
1) Burnt CD of all her favorite jams
2) Handmade artwork (we aren’t talking Picasso or Warhol)
3) IOUs – My personal favorite

Step #3 – Dinner. So many options here. You can either make something yourself with food from the grocery store (while using apps like Ibotta) or load up on the other free food options. My date this year will be receiving an entrée from Carrabas (check out previous post), a double Jack, and a Chipotle Burrito (text “raincheck” to 888222 and follow instructions on the link). No way your date can eat all that food unless you are dating Gloria from Madagascar.

Lastly for BBVA bank account holders, go hit up your local BBVA and ask about the Mobile Deposit initiative they are doing. You should receive a $1 check to deposit into your account as a free trial. Be sure to have the app already downloaded on your phone. Because as you know, every dollar counts…. and that’s how it’s Post To Be.
